About Abigail Murray, PsyD

I’m a clinical psychologist with a lifelong connection to New York City, where I was born and raised in Manhattan. I earned my doctorate (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University, and have trained extensively with individuals across the lifespan—from young children to older adults—across a range of settings, including hospitals, schools, and community clinics.
Before entering private practice, I worked in a residential treatment center for teens, where I supported adolescents navigating complex emotional and behavioral challenges. My doctoral research explored the impact of digital life—particularly the internet—on dating, connection, and intimacy, a theme that continues to shape my interest in the psychology of modern relationships.
In my practice today, I provide psychodynamically informed therapy that is attuned to both internal experience and external stressors. I work with adults and adolescents navigating identity, relationships, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and creative blocks. My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that insight and curiosity can open the door to meaningful change.
